China

It’s everything you can’t imagine and more.  From overpopulated cities like Beijing and Shanghai to the smaller, rural areas of Yangshuo and Guilin (my favourite).

Exploring the farming area of Yangshuo will guarantee awe-inspiring scenery.

This is what a rice paddy really looks like:

Yangshuo is always buzzing with locals and tourists whether it’s for shopping, eating out or enjoying the nightlife.      Don’t leave without - - - The Yangshuo Light and sound show is a must!!

Home of the Terracotta Warriors, Xian has one of the best preserved cities walls.

Had the best dumplings ever at the Tang Dynasty Dinner Show.  Great show and even better dumplings. (I liked the chicken ones)

Why not try out the famous snake wine……you will feel the instant bite.

It was truly amazing, walking through the now, three pits containing the Terracotta Army made up out of more than 8 000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses. Look around, you might find the discoverer of the warriors and horses, farmer Yang Xinman.

Beijing has both an old world charm and super trendy new areas..   Must visits include the famous Tiananmen square, the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace with its marble Boat.

An memorable yet tiring experience….climbing the Great Wall of China!   Take flat, comfortable shoes for this.  It is quite a steep climb to the first stop and you will be warned not to carry on should you have any heart related medical condition.
